The San’indo Road, connecting Kyoto to the Sea of Japan, is one of the oldest routes where people have traveled since ancient times, and it is the most beautiful cycling route where you can enjoy the essence of Japan.
There are many roads with little traffic, and many ancient villages and nature remain. In addition, the Tango Peninsula, which is the goal, boasts a wonderful scenery said to be “the most beautiful coastline in Japan.”
You can also enjoy the mystical cedar forests, magnificent rivers, and terraced rice fields in the Tamba Highlands along the way.
