Designer's Comments

Starting from Kyoto, this is a course that allows you to enjoy the countryside roads to the Sea of Japan area.
You can enjoy the old Japanese landscapes such as the elegant townscape of Arashiyama in Kyoto, the thatched roof village of Miyama, the rural areas of Ayabe, the sandbar of Amanohashidate, the boathouses of Ine, and the crab fishing village of Taiza.
You can also enjoy the diverse natural landscapes unique to Japan such as the northern mountains of Kyoto, the bamboo forest, the cedar forest, the source of the Yura River, and the cliffs of the Sea of Japan, making it a small full course of Japanese culture.

The design challenge is that because it is an old-fashioned area, there are fewer hotel options that can accommodate large groups, so we need to ask for some patience, and because there are many mountains, we basically recommend E-Bikes. The battery is enough for a day's ride, but you will need to charge it at the hotel every day. Fortunately, almost all hotels in the northern area are bicycle-friendly, so with our adjustments, it will be possible to charge at the hotel.

Since you are 10 people, I expected there would be a large difference in individual cycling ability, so we set the distance to 45km to 60km per day. The D1, from Kyoto to Miyama(66km), would be the toughest. The D2 is a short (49km) and flat route that offers a leisurely stroll through the thatched roof village of Miyama.
However, if we had extended the distance of D5 a little further, there would have been a wonderful hot spring town called Kinosaki Onsen, and it's a bit disappointing that we couldn't include it.

Tips

Lunch spots

For D1 and D4, you can eat at the roadside stations located halfway through without making a reservation(However, roadside stations often only accept cash, so be sure to prepare some Japanese yen.).
However, for D2 and D3, it is better to either buy sandwiches at the roadside station or supermarket just before your destination, or make a reservation.
As for picnics, this route is along rivers or the sea, so you can eat anywhere as long as you sit on the riverbank or on the embankment.

If necessary, we can deliver lunch boxes for 2,000 yen per meal.

Alternatively, when you collect your luggage in the morning upon departure, we can give you a set of sandwich, rice ball, biscuit, banana and water for 1500 yen per meal.
