Meet at our shop in Kyoto

First, we will have you fitted for the E-Bike and prepare the necessary equipment at our shop.
The shop is located on the west side of Kyoto. It is a 10-minute walk from JR Tanbaguchi Station or Saiin Station. If your hotel is nearby, we can also pick you up and drop you off.

Your luggage will be stored here and transported to your next accommodation.

Navigation System

We will install a cycle navigation system with maps called IGPSPORT BSC300 on the E-Bike.

Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion)

The first checkpoint is Kinkakuji Temple. It's a famous golden temple, located about 6km north from the shop. There is also a free bicycle parking lot.
It takes about 15 minutes to get around, but if it's crowded you can skip it.

Takagamine old highway

Takamine Highway was built 400 years ago, and is the steepest slope on the first day. Nowadays, due to the construction of other roads, there are hardly any cars on it.
It's about a 300m climb, but it won't be too steep on an e-bike.

Lunch Spot: Roadside station Keihoku and its surroundings

At the 28km mark, halfway along the route, is Woody Keihoku Roadside Station.
Many drivers and cyclists stop here to rest, so there are Ramen Captain and Pizza Cafe nearby.
Personally, I like the wild boar ramen at Ramen Captain.

Moutain cuisine Ryokan Isobe

From Woody Keihoku, we travel a relatively flat 20km to our lodging for the first night, Isobe.
If we have time, we recommend going a little further from there to explore Miyama Thatched Roof Village.

D2

Miyama Thatched Roof Village

If you cycle up the river from Isobe Inn for about 6km, you will come to Miyama Thatched Roof Village.
This is an area that has preserved the traditional life of the snow country from hundreds of years ago, and is a famous tourist spot. There is also a cafe and an exhibition hall, so it would be a lot of fun to stroll around the area.

Roadside station Miyama

The next checkpoint is Roadside Station Miyama at the 48km point. There are plenty of ice creams and sweets, and there are cafes and restaurants around it.

There are very few restaurants along the route on the second day, so we recommend buying snacks here.

Yura river

The course for the second day is to go down the road alongside the Yura River. There are roads on both sides, but it is generally better to take the road on the south side as there is less traffic.

Lunch spot: Roadside Station Nagomi

Basically, this roadside station is the only lunch spot halfway through the course (30km).
If you go to Ayabe city at the 50km point, there are plenty of restaurants.

Ayabe Gunze Square

This is a museum of a textile manufacturer located in the center of the industrial city of Ayabe. It has a beautiful rose garden and a cafe.

Farmer's Inn Imaya

After driving about 10km from Ayabe city center through flat countryside, you will arrive at Ima, a farm stay Inn.

*Your luggage will be delivered to this inn, so please collect it.

D3

Luggage

In the morning, our support car will come to your accommodation and collect your luggage. We will deliver it to your next accommodation.

Yura river

This is the same Yura River as D2, but as you are going downstream the river is wider and easier to ride.
And finally it joins the sea.

(Lunch) Miyazu

Miyazu, 38km from the station, is a seaside port town and a tourist destination with Amanohashidate. There are many restaurants around Miyazu Station where you can enjoy delicious seafood dishes, so we recommend eating lunch there. If you want to have lunch before that, we recommend a cafe called Keke.

Amanohashidate View Land

Amanohashidate is a natural sandbar 3km long, and has been called one of the "Three Most Scenic Views of Japan" for 300 years.
There are observation decks on the north and south sides, and you can easily view Amanohashidate from above using the lifts on both sides. 30 minutes is enough. There is also a bicycle parking area.

Cycling across the sandbar.

You can cycle across the sandbar, which has teahouses, shrines and beaches along the way.

Ayabe Gunze Square

This is a museum of a textile manufacturer located in the center of the industrial city of Ayabe. It has a beautiful rose garden and a cafe.

Ine boathouses

About 18km from Amanohashidate along the coastline, you will arrive at Ine. The bay, which is 5km in circumference, is completely covered with boathouses, creating a unique atmosphere.
We will meet up with you there and we will show you around.

Farmer's Modern Inn in Ine Shizuka

If you enjoy Ine Bay and spend some time there, we will drive you back to the inn.
If you have time, we highly recommend cycling to the inn, as the road to the inn is a beautiful rural area.

Accommodations

Day1(Miyama) Mountain cuisine Ryokan Isobe (Laxury, Whole building rental)

*You can rent out a hotel that has been renovated from a traditional Japanese house, complete with a garden. The food and hospitality are top-notch.

*If you were to stay in a normal shared ryokan-style room, the price would be about half the price.

Day2(Ayabe) Farmer's guesthouse Imaya

This guesthouse was renovated from an ordinary Japanese farmhouse. The food is nothing special, just what Japanese farmers normally eat, but the taste and quantity are excellent. The bathrooms and toilets are also modern, so you can stay as comfortably as if you were at home.

Day3(Ine) Farmer's Modern Inn in Ine Shizuka

This guesthouse is run by a farmer and is surrounded by nature, and offers the best hospitality and food.
It's about 10km away from Ine Bay, so a free shuttle service is available.
It's close to my house, and cycling around here is a lot of fun, so I recommend cycling if you have time.
