The ultimate tour combining car, e-bike and local professional guide
Kyoto is an extremely complicated tourist destination. You can avoid traffic jams, crowds, cold, heat, and rain, and travel to the best places on the best vehicles. Walk where you should walk. And with a professional guide who knows the area inside and out, there is no better tour than this.
We will provide a standard course, but we can customize it to suit your preferences, level, and time of year.
Itinerary
Pick up from your hotel
Pick-up from hotels in Kyoto city.
If your hotel is close to the tour area and has bike parking available, we may start from there.
Cycling/ Walking in the rice fields of Arashiyama
Start your cycle through the little-known bamboo forests and rice fields on the north side of Arashiyama.
While enjoying the scenery that has remained unchanged for 1,000 years, professional instructors will teach you how to handle the bicycles.
Emperor's tomb
Visit the sacred bamboo forest containing the Emperor's tomb
If you don't mind being surrounded by huge crowds, you can visit the famous "Arashiyama Bamboo Forest", but we recommend visiting the even more beautiful, secluded and truly historic bamboo forest and the sacred place of the Imperial Family hidden within it.
Old town of Arashiyama
Arashiyama has been a resort area for aristocrats for 1000 years. Even today, people of that descent still live in luxurious traditional mansions. We will visit them.
Hozukyo
To the west of Arashiyama lies the wild Hozukyo Gorge, which we will overcome with the overwhelming power of our E-Bikes.
Hozu River
Hozu river is a very famous leisure area with many attractions, such as the trolley train, boat tours, and suspension bridges. Of course, the scenery along the cycling route is absolutely stunning.
You can get in the car any time
If you get tired of cycling or walking you can always hop in the car and leave all your luggage in the car, so you can enjoy the ride completely light.
Local hot and cold drinks
Japan is the safest country in the world, and thanks to that, there are vending machines everywhere, so you can always get a hot drink when it's cold, or a cold drink when it's hot. A local guide will tell you about some recommended drinks.
My recommendations are corn potage soup and sweet red bean soup.
Accompanying cycling/ walking guide
In places where cars cannot enter or in complicated urban areas, the guide will get out of the car and lead the way directly. On easy roads, the car will go ahead and wait at the corner.
As an option, you can have a guide accompany you for the entire trip in addition to the driver, but we don't think it's necessary for this course.
Snacks / lunch
When you arrive in Kameoka, you will have snacks, juice, beer, etc. before you head to the finish line. Depending on the location of your hotel, you will be sent back by train or car.
If the cycling start time is later, lunch or dinner is available but must be paid by the customer.
Train Tour
Depending on where your hotel is located, you will return by train, where your guide, a rail-enthusiast, will show you the fascinating aspects of Japanese railroads and the beautiful scenery you can see from the train window.
The ultimate tour for everyone
With the use of Kyoto, car, e-bike, and local guide, everyone can enjoy this tour, from children to the elderly, city lovers, nature lovers, and even those who can't ride a bicycle.
If you come to Kyoto, be sure to try this tour!
