Itinerary details

D1

Meet at Amino Staion

Amino Station is a 3-4 hour train ride from Kyoto Station or Osaka Station. There is also an express bus.
We will meet at Amino Station, where we will rent you an e-bike and do a fitting for you.

Navigation System

We will install a cycle navigation system with maps called IGPSPORT BSC300 on the E-Bike.

Explore Amino

Amino is an old town with a population of about 10,000 people, and is famous for surfing, weaving, and fishing.
There are also cafes in old houses, seafood pizza restaurants, sushi izakayas, and ramen shops, so it's fun to explore the town.

The Google map above shows some recommended spots.

Accommodation

Amino has a few lodgings for surfing and swimming. My personal recommendation is Kobamaso, which is run by a friend of mine and is flexible in terms of charging and storing your E-Bike. They will also tell you about recommended izakayas in the area, and you can cook for yourself.

If you'd like a classic Japanese inn with meals included, Morigen Ryokan is the place to go.

Kobamaso

D2

Taiza Tateiwa

Taiza is one of the oldest towns in Japan, and you can enjoy ancient royal tombs, mysterious rock formations, and a unique fishing village.

Japan's most beautiful coastline

The 30km from Taiza to Ine is the most beautiful coastline in Japan. I have cycled all over Japan, but I have not yet found a more beautiful place.

Ine

Ine is a fishing village with a wonderful view of 230 unique boat houses filling the 5km bay. I like this place and live here.
It's 45km from Amino, so it's a good place to stay if you're a beginner.
As it's a famous tourist destination, there are many places to eat. I've put some recommended places on the Google Map above.

Amanohashidate

The flat 20km cycle from Amanohashidate to Ine takes about an hour and a half.

Amanohashidate is a natural sandbar that is about 3km long. Because it resembles a ladder reaching to the heavens, it has been a famous tourist destination for hundreds of years as one of the "Three Most Views of Japan."
There is a lift, so you can easily enjoy the view from the observation deck in about 30 minutes to an hour.
You can cross the sandbar by bicycle, and inside there is a beautiful beach.

Stay in Miyazu

About 2km from Amanohashidate is the port town of Miyazu. As it was a base on the Japan Sea trade route, there are several historic inns here. There is also the Marriott.
Prices vary greatly depending on whether the bath is in a private room or a large communal bath, and the quality of the food.
This time we recommend Seikiro.

Miyazu Sta.

There are express trains from Kyoto to Miyazu Station or Amanohashidate Station, so depending on your condition and the weather, you may want to finish here.

D3

Itado Pass

There are three routes from Miyazu to Fukuchiyama, but this time I recommend the route that goes through Itado Pass to the Yura River.
There is little traffic, the scenery is beautiful, and the difference in elevation is not that great.

Yura river

The Yura River is the largest river in northern Kansai and connects Fukuchiyama and Miyazu. There is a flat and easy bike course along the river, allowing you to comfortably ride to Fukuchiyama.

Fukuchiyama

Fukuchiyama is the central city in northern Kyoto. In addition to being able to enjoy the castle and castle town, the quality of the restaurants is also very high.
Many express trains run from Fukuchiyama Station to Kyoto and Osaka, so it's also very accessible.

Stoked Cycle

There's a professional bicycle shop in front of the station where our bikes are also serviced.
You can return your bike and pick up your luggage there.
