Nara was the capital of Japan in the 8th century, and Kyoto was the capital from the 9th to the 19th century. For 1100 years, many travelers journeyed along the Yamato Road connecting the two.

You will cycle along this historic ancient road. You will also eat lunch and visit recommended spots in Uji and Wazuka, areas with vast tea fields with 800 years of history, tea temples, and tea villages.

Hotel pick-up service, lunch, E-Bike, and the most delicious matcha in Kyoto are included in the tour price.

Itinerary

Meet at a hotel in Kyoto or Nara

Meet at a hotel or station in Kyoto or Nara city. From there, we will drive you to the starting point of the cycling tour.

Play with deer in Nara Park

Interact with the deer in Nara Park. You can also feed them.

Kasuga Taisha Shrine

Visit Kasuga Taisha Shrine, a sacred site of Japanese Shintoism located in the depths of Nara Park. It is also the birthplace of deer worship and a very mystical area.

Wazuka Tea Fields

The Wazuka tea fields are the production area for tea with the longest history and most luxurious brand in Japan. The village itself is also very unique and beautiful, making it a great place to cycle.

Matcha

The taste of matcha changes greatly depending on its freshness. Matcha drunk in the highest quality brand tea field area is exceptional. For those who don't like straight matcha, there is also matcha to put on ice cream.

Yamato Road

The Yamato Road is an old road connecting the old and new capitals, built about 1200 years ago. There is little traffic, so you can enjoy a comfortable cycling experience while feeling the atmosphere of the past.

For lunch, you can choose from sushi, ramen, and tea soba restaurants. The guide will flexibly choose according to customer preferences and opening status.

Uji

Uji is a town on the riverside, famous for its many tea-related shops and beautiful scenery. In particular, you will cycle along the beautiful river. If customers want to buy pottery or tea leaves, we will stop at the shops.

Tea Temple

This Zen temple in Uji is where Japanese tea culture began, and a tea festival is held every year. It is a very mature and pleasant temple where you can fully understand the important connection between tea and Zen.
